LIBRARY HOURS AND ACCESS
7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through & Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students may use the Library at any time during their unscheduled mods. Freshmen assigned to study halls need a "green slip" from a classroom teacher to come to the Library during free mods.
The EHS Library is a wonderful space and comfortable environment for study and research.

PHILOSOPHY
The EHS Library is an integral part of the school community, providing services and resources to support the educational program and ensuring students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The Library provides access to information through print and non-print resources including books, periodicals, newspapers, online databases and the Internet. The EHS Library subscribes to the
Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read, Access to Resources and Services in the School Library Media Program: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights, and the
Statement on Intellectual Freedom. The Library's mission reflects the principles set forth in
Information Power: Building Partnerships for Learning (ALA and AECT, 1998), the nationally accepted standard for library media programs.
Carrels are available for an extra quiet work environment.

GOALS OF THE LIBRARY
- Meet the informational needs of the school based on knowledge of the curriculum and interests of its students, faculty, and staff
- Stimulate and support intellectual and social growth, literary appreciation, aesthetic values, and ethical standards related to literature and information
- Provide a balanced collection reflecting diversity in points of view and in treatment of controversial issues
- Meet criteria such as factual accuracy, timeliness, variety of format and appropriateness to level of user
